Studio 7: Iam Yoga (Yonge & Bloor)

Monday, May 13th My girlfriend and I were raving about how much we love hot yoga, so she invited me to come to a class with her at Iam Yoga on Yonge at Charles Street, just south of Bloor. Coincidentally, her studio is on my Passport to Prana list! We decide to meet up after … Read more

Studio 6: 10 Toes to the Mat (Nobelton – CLOSED)

Tuesday, May 7th I wanted to get out of the city the other evening, so I thought I’d knock off one of the out-of-town locations on my list. I spun the globe and picked 10 Toes to the Mat in Nobelton… Unfortunately, neither their website nor their number are in service, so it seems that … Read more

Downward Dog Yoga 1

Studio 5: Downward Dog Yoga (Toronto – Queen West)

Sunday, April 14th Sunny day in the city. Need a workout, but also need to re-zen. Need me some yog-age. I’ve passed by Downward Dog Yoga dozens of times, so when I noticed them on the list I quite literally jumped off the couch, packed my bag, and was out the door in under ten minutes. … Read more

Homelessness? Come on now.

“Stop viewing ‘homeless people’ as a subculture, think of them instead as ‘people experiencing homelessness.’ ” This line resonated with me during my orientation session to volunteer at the Knight’s Table, a food bank in Brampton. Now, not everyone has the time to volunteer, and I’m not trying to make anyone feel bad. Instead, I’d … Read more

Yoga space

Studio 4: Yoga Space (Toronto – Ossington)

Friday, April 5th I went to Yoga Space, an adorable studio on Ossington that had a very peaceful vibe, the kind you notice as soon as you walk in the door, for their Flow Yoga class. Plenty of light, lots of smiles, and not a single person seemed stressed despite the fact that it was a post-workday … Read more

Bheda home

Studio 3: Bheda Yoga (Markham)

Monday, April 1st Even though I’d just taken a class that morning, I decide another 90 minutes of sweat would do me good. I look online, and it seems that Bheda Yoga Markham is just a couple of minutes from my office. Score! What I thought:  The instructor at reception was so warm and inviting, … Read more

Studio 2: Hot Yoga Wellness (Scarborough)

Monday, April 1st Not having a day off has been catching up to me. I decide to take part of the morning off and sweat out this nasty head-cold  in a 75-minute Foundation Flow class at Hot Yoga Wellness in Scarborough, which isn’t too far from my office in Markham. What I thought: What an awesome … Read more

I Am NOT Canada’s Worst Driver

Just a Friday night. I’ve been working at a tradeshow all day and I’m tired of being on my feet but my friend still drags me to a Power Yoga class. I am truly drained. Buuuut one of our girlfriends that we rarely get to see wants to go out with us. They promise me … Read more

  • charity : water

Do you remember what you got for your last birthday? I don't. I donated my birthday to raise money for water projects in developing communities and made my birthday truly count for something.

charity : water tells you exactly where your money went to and how every penny of it was used. In fact, I've had friend volunteer abroad whose projects were funded by charity : water, so I know they're really making a difference in the world.
